Expectations/Excitement For the Fifth Album
I thought I would make this topic for everyone to share their excitement and expectations of the fifth album. As we all know, Avril is working her butt off writing new songs while The Runners are producing and L.A Reid seems to be very happy with her progress. The Runners were recently quoted talking about Avril at The Grammy's:-
"It's awesome. It's an honor. We feel blessed to be here," Dru Bet of the Runners told Billboard.biz. Bet wore his Grammy nominee proudly as he and Mayne Zayne chatted with friends. The pair, who also produced songs for Chris Brown, are currently working with Avril Lavigne. "Avril is just a genius. She's writing all the songs right now," Bet said. "And Mayne and her, they clicked creatively together, [it's] excellent."
And she's even having a new sound! 
Also, any fifth album news we hear, could all be posted here, just to keep the forums clean

I found this site which supposedly has 'information' about Avril's fifth album, obviously I've never heard the source so it could be BS, but i thought it was interesting to post as a discussion topic

ShareEmailAvril Lavigne just ended her whirlwind “Black Star” tour and tells us that she’s already back in the studio working on what will become her 5th studio album.
“I’m in the studio right now and I’m working with another Canadian guy who is super rad, Chad Kruger from the band Nickelback and David Hodges, he’s also a super talented [producer] who did a lot of Evanescence stuff,” Avril tells us at the launch of her Abbey Dawn collection presented by Just Fabulous.
She also says she’s working with a high profile X-Factor judge, “I’m working with LA Reid and we’re all really excited.”
That will only further fuel the rumors that she is in talks to join the judging panel of The X-Factor. Though when we asked about the judging rumors, she simply says, “I already performed on the X-Factor and that was awesome.”
For now we can absolutely look forward to her new album, which she says is not as “young” but definitely very “fun.”
“I don’t think it’s as young,” she says of her new album, “A lot of acoustic guitars and pianos. There’s a deep message…it’s emotional, [but] it’s a good time because the album is a little more upbeat I think. It’s got some pretty crazy fun songs. It’s about living life and just like making the most of it and having a good time.”"

Remember at all the fake song names and tracklists we got for Goodbye Lullaby? Who remembers the title 'Crash and burn' or 'Sweet and dark princess'?? LOLOLOLOLOL!
No, these are only rumors... And the titles too, just search on youtube and you'll see a million of differents rubbish about the tracklist of the new album..
Feels like those ar just rumors. That's usualy the case when we get song titles so long before the album release.
And we don't even know if Fine and Gone will still be on the album! It's fun to speculate and discuss the 5th album though, but not take rumours too seriously.

'Following the success of Goodbye Lullaby, Avril Lavigne announced that she had begun work on her fifth studio album, which was targeted for release in late 2012. She revealed the names of two of the new album’s tracks: “Fine” and “Gone”, which were originally intended for Goodbye Lullaby.
She confirmed that the album would be more pop and fun, more towards the direction of The Best Damn Thing, and that she had moved to Epic Records.
The 27 year-old singer is now taking a short hiatus, and will be releasing the album after her hiatus. Meanwhile, she has debuted a brand new hairstyle which could be a trend sometime in the near future – a half-shaven head.'
Fine, we will see what the future holds ... but I look forward to get a new colorful homepage.
The dark Goodbye Lullaby one right now is a bit frustrating.
@thequiet Shouldn't listen to rumours. Besides, Avril made no hint when the album would be out. All Avril said was that the album was done and she was taking a break before venturing on her next musical adventure. A break could be anything from 2 months - 1 year
but she's preparing for all the promotion etc since coming back to L.A or she's planning the photoshoot.. unless she has done it already.
Actually, one of my Avril friends told me yesterday that Avril said the record wouldn't come out before 2013, only a new song, and I was a bit angry about it ... I am pretty excited, too.

I still don't get why the haircut and the release date are related. Like Aline28th said.. maybe she want this haircut to be a part of the new album era?
...Or maybe she has cutted her hair for the images to put in the fifth album

@Miss Independent. it is related because she did this for 2 reasons:
1.- she wanted that new haircut.
2.- the press is talking about her so with this "boom" now it would be good to talk about the fifth album.
