I wasnt trying to make a big deal about it i just wanted to let her know how i feel about it. i wasnt dissing her or anything. i love her just as much as anyone. i dont even care about it anymore. so punkrockshow2003 what was it like meeting her?

I was there and it wasn't as bad as the media is making it out to be. why is my post being used for this attack against a word she used, when she did say sorry and thanked the Ray's for having her? I asked if anyone was going, That is all.

Even if it doesn't matter,
I think Avril currently doesn't need this kind of controversy, already that sales of his latest album are weak in the U.S. ...
She knew the rules of the festival, she should have respect, it is also part of the business.

@Rachel You make my point for me perfectly when you say "I think most adults/young adults/teenagers hear that word so many times in the daily lives and are mature enough not to go shouting it when its inappropriate". Such language is overused and doesn't have the shock value it once did. And, if most people, know "enough not to go shouting it when its inappropriate", why doesn't Avril? I fear she is becoming a diva that thinks anything is OK as long as she is the one doing it. I hope I'm wrong and the trend does not continue.

When the story first emerged about Avrils, ahem, swearing/attitude etc I thought she had actually sworn to the crowd, it was said she had told them to f*** off when they were booing when her microphone wasn't working. But what was actually said in the media was not what happened. She only said "this is a long f***ing show" or something like that. I think most adults/young adults/teenagers hear that word so many times in the daily lives and are mature enough not to go shouting it when its inappropriate. I do think it was not very good to say at a 'family' event, but that said, I thought it wasn't as bad as what was originally thought in the media.

(Of course I still love her though Tongue)

I don't care if I'm the last person on the planet that thinks so but, there are some things you just don't say into a microphone at a "family" event. There are places in the USA where you can be fined for doing that and I support those laws. If you talked that way in front of my little grandchildren at my house, you would be thrown out. She is a role model and I believe she is obligated to set a good example, but she doesn't in this respect. Such conduct contributes to the decline in morality in our society. There are plenty of things that are OK for adults to do that are not OK for younger people. And, that's the way it should be. It's not the crime of the century. At the very least, it is rude and disrespectful to her fans that on average, are less than 18 years old. In this case, I think she is guilty of bad judgment and poor taste. It's not good for business. She needs to remember, this is a "business".

I think that the media and some people are just making a small issue become a big issue. Seriously she said a few swear words, so what? And if the song is supposed to have those words then I don't see the reason to cover them up!

I am not a big fan of profanity myself and I never use them! But now days a lot of people are using them and I have heard 5 year old children say the F-Word to their parents so yeah.....

what about her saying "f***ing live show"?

I got to meet Avril Before she threw the first Pitch. I gave her a hug and told her that for 10 years i've been waiting to see her live, she said "AWW"

There were rumors going around that she wasn't feeling very good, I guessing she was on vocal rest before the show.

I've been a fan since she came out, I have never stopped loving her as a person or her music! she is so true to herself and isn't scared to let people see who she really is.

Mebertoni- she did say she was sorry for the words she said. But if you listen to her Albums and lyrics you'll see that the "words she used" are in those albums as well, so why wouldn't you expect it live? people will think what they want to think, but her true fans will always be there for her. I expected more "words" to be said really, This is Avril Lavigne after all, and she will stay true to herself..I think she did an amazing job and it was a great show.

ps. as soon as I get the picture from the rep I'll be posting it. was told later this week so well see what happens Smile

Dear Avril, i was soooo excited to see you at the tamps bay rays game. I never thought i would be able to see you in concert. It was a baseball game so a lot of families were there. you said a word that i didnt want to here you say infront of little kids or anyone. i left crying after the fourth song because i was so let down. I look up to you and i idolized you. Now im not so sure. I was looking forward to the biggest night of my life, but i left in tears. I dont want people to think u r a bad person because i believe u r not. But what u said really upset me and probably a lot of fans. i hope that u read this and understand. im still one of ur biggest fans in the world but u made a mistake.
Love, Megan
P.S u still sounded great on the first song. some people couldnt here u but i could.
