Okay, so before you read my long paragraph, I just want to let you know that I'm using other artists as an example of proving my reason for liking Avril Lavigne. And yes, I like Avril Lavigne more than all of them or I wouldn't have an account in this site. I'm sorry if I was off-topic in some parts of the paragraph.
I'm not saying to anyone that people HAVE to like Avril Lavigne. I mean, I'm not the biggest fan of her myself. But I just want people to realize that unlike some of the newer artists are not as talented as the average artist should be.I believe that Avril Lavigne is an outstanding artist with an unbelievable amount of talent. I'm not saying that she's the best, (there's no such thing as the best artist), I'm saying that since she puts a lot of effort into her singing and performing, so many people enjoy her music. People mostly buy songs because they're catchy. I buy a few songs that are catchy too. But I mostly buy songs from the people who i know who have talent, not just speak the whole song, or auto tune the whole song. Avril Lavigne auto tunes herself, but she at least shows that she can belt in high ranges during her songs. (Plus I saw her in concert, so I know she can sing. :]) I'm glad that I know that she's not the only one that does that. ex: Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga. People also like artists because the way people look what they're style is like. I'll take Lady Gaga for an example. She has a ton of crazy clothes, and she has a bunch of different wigs. And she has a different style in every single one of her music videos (all of her music videos are different but that's not my point). My point is, if you take away all of her craziness and weirdness, and zone in on just her talent itself, then you can really think if it's worth liking her or buying her music or not. Avril Lavigne is like that too, well except you can zone in on her talent much easier than Lady Gaga, since Avril is just a punk while Lady Gaga is......well, crazy. Personally, I just ABSOLUTELY HATE artists who don't have a lot or any talent, but get famous and make a lot of money off of their music. So next time you hear a new artist on the radio or something, carefully think about just the talent that the artist has. You know, just to see if you deserve to listen to just the artist's talent. I did that with Avril Lavigne, and she has talent. So I listen to as much as I can of her every day. Because not only her talent is awesome, but it makes me smile. <3
