So I don't know where to begin, first of all the concert was AMAZING. I'll start from when I first arrived. Ok, so I was seating not standing so I got there and parked up around 6:45pm, the doors opened at 7pm and let me tell you (the people who went obviously know) but the queue was INSANE!!! It was soooo long! So we waited in the car and had something to eat and started a slow walk up to join the queue which actually wasn't that bad, we were moving quite quickly. So when we had our tickets scanned, I got given a Wild Rose leaflet offering 5 pounds off Wild Rose at the Fragrance Shop and got offered a smell (I had never smelt it before; it was gorgeous!) Eventually we went up a few stairs to where we were sitting and I went and bought a t-shirt (I got the Smile one if anyones interested). Afterwards, we went and sat down in our seats, which I was amazed at the size of the venue!! Compared to the NEC Arena and Wembley Arena where I had seen Avril in 04, 05 and 08, it was very different. We had amazing seats though and I was right in the middle. Anyway the support act, Lawson were supposed to come on at 7:50pm, they came on a little late, I think it was 8pm, which they performed an original song followed by Katy Perry's Firework. They were ok, I just didn't know any of their songs. They finished their set around 8:30pm. As Avril was due to come on at 9pm, we had an half an hour break before.
So it came to 9pm and it went dark, we all started chanting "AVRIL, AVRIL, AVRIL..." and the suspense was actually killing me! I just wanted her to come on the stage now and as soon as the band started playing the first few notes of Black Star, I screamed! I got so excited, it was crazy. Eventually Avril walked on with her green star glowstick singing Black Star. Honestly I freaked out. I'm not gonna go into all the details with every single song but what I am going to say is Avril sounded amazing! Her voice was incredible and the atmospere was completely different to that of an arena which holds around 10,000 people (the apollo holds around 2,000) it also seemed not as big of a production like the best damn tour, it seemed very back to basics and stripped down like Avril had said she wanted it to be. To me, it was kinda of reminisent to the try to shut me up tour. It was also adorable when she forgot a little bit of the words to Coldplay's song Fix You, but quickly recovered like a true professional. Overall the night was amazing and it was one of the best nights of my life. Also, I would like to mention that during Wish You Were Here, she said "this is the last night of the UK tour... for a little bit" which suggests to me, if she coming back next year.
