What Song Would You Like To See Avril Cover?
I saw this question asked in another forum a few years ago, and I picked Bad Reputation, and then on her tour, she actually DID do a cover of it. So who knows...maybe she really does take suggestions from fans! Or maybe it's just a coincidence, cuz hey...it's not like it's a stretch to put Avril and Bad Reputation together.
So anyway, here's your chance to pick a song you would like to see Avril sing. This is just for fun, not any kind of official poll. There are only two rules:
1.The song must be at least ten years old.
2.You must explain why you think this song is right for Avril.
OK, I'll start...
I would like to see a cover of 'Like A Rolling Stone', by Bob Dylan. I think it would be a good song for her because A) hey, it's Dylan, B) she's covered Dylan before, and C) because the song has a similar vibe to 'Nobody's Home', only of course much much better.

@abbeycadabra I love the song. I have the 45 rpm record. I just can't envision Avril pulling it off. She couldn't sing it the way Bob did. She would have to somehow personalize it the way Jimi Hendrix totally owned "All Along The Watchtower".
I too wonder if she gets ideas from her fans. In Aug '07 I suggested a cheerleader theme for the TBDT video in her official forum, 10 months before it was released. hmmm.

@Rachel I love this tune. It came out not long after I graduated. I'm not sure it's suitable in a key high enough for Avril to sing it. I wouldn't mind hearing her try it though.
My first choice would be Rock And Roll by Led Zeppelin.

First of all, it's one of the best rock n roll songs of all time. Not many men can sing high enough to cover many Led Zeppelin tunes. I think it's in her vocal range and her voice is strong enough to pull it off. I think covering this song would enhance her image as a "Rocker".
Rem- everybody hurts
If the songs have to be 10 years old I would say I would like Avril to do covers of:
* Netzwerk - Memories because it's a good song and it's about memories and love and suits Avril
* Van Halen - Dreams because it's about having dreams and going to a higher place which suits Avril because I'm sure she's always dreaming.
* Shed 7 - Bully Boy because it's about being bullied in life and it is quite emotional to me anyway. It would suit Avril as she likes singing songs with meaning.
If she can sing a cover that is less than 10 years old she should do the song 'Look After You' by The Fray because that is an emotional song and I feel we felt the majority of Avril's emotions so far on Under My Skin.

Because they have nearly the same tone of voice, and knowing Avril, she managed to outdo the original
And a choice of song that isn't 10 years old, I would choose Circle The Drain by Katy Perry. I think that song is more rockier by Katy and would suit Avril well
I would like to see Avril cover Schools Out by Alice Cooper. I think it would be a good song to cover because A. its a really cool song which Avril could have a lot of fun with. B. Avril could make it her own, sometimes when artists cover songs it sounds like a karaoke version. Obviously Alice is very much hardcore rock/rock and Avril is pop/rock so Avril could make it her own version. And C. the song is probably a lighter, kinda fun song by Alice so shares a vibe with He Wasn't/What the Hell, those songs are obviously more poppy/rock and Schools Out is more heavier but it shares that same fun vibe
