Vanessa, the Grand Prize winner of our recent Avril contest, just shared with us about her experience in Hong Kong. Check out Vanessa's story and photos below!

I joined this competition with a simple heart, though giving 100% commitment, but never imagined to win the grand prize. Upon submitting my entry, I’ve gone about my normal daily life, but on a bright Tuesday evening, to my greatest surprise, a media from Sony Music phoned to inform my successful grand prize win to rock Avril Lavigne in Hong Kong! Without second thoughts, I was screaming away in joy. I decided to share the joy and experience with my brother and coaxed him to tag along.

So finally, the wait was over. I met up with the Sony Music Malaysia rep and a writer from Hot Mag, at the airport. Upon touch down in Hong Kong, the four of us made our way to the four star Panorama Hotel. After we had settled down, we hailed a cab from the hotel to Harbour City, the largest mall in Hong Kong. There, we met up with other media personnel from all over Asia. Everyone in groups of 10 queued up anxiously for the meet and greet session. My heart beat abnormally fast in anticipation to meet my idol and all of a sudden she appeared right in front of me! Although I only got a glimpse at her in the photograph session, but I missed the opportunity to shake her hand due to the intense crowd hindering my way.

An hour later, it was the exhilarating showcase. The showcase was so much better than I had expected! I managed to get the front row and she sang 5 awesome songs from her new album! The view of the twinkling city lights from the rooftop was spectacular. The best part was, I got to rock with her in Hong Kong!!!
