When things get me down, when people spread crap, when I feel so low I can't carry on. Avril's music saves me. Its not just the song, its the lyric, the powerful words poured into the song, a bit of everything. On bad days, I feel so weak that I can't speak out loud, I can't talk to anyone, I can't perform or act, like I love to... The music saves me, the music lets me escape, it tells me I'm not alone and I never will be.
For as long as I can remember Avril Lavigne has been my favourite singer. My hero. My role model.
I remember getting her first album, Let Go, for a birthday present when I was small, I listened to it all the time. Even then, her songs helped me, guided me, made me smile, made me feel like some knew me. When I was a bit older Under My Skin came out and that album is my favourite... As a kid I always sang in the car, my parents laughed at me all the time becuase I was so terrible and that got me down, I would listen to Who Knows and I would instantly feel better, her music means everything to me.
I recently went through a really tough time, I lost a friend, I did really stupid things,I was really depressed, I felt like nothing could save me, nothing would make me feel better... Apart from Avril's music. The song Keep Holding On always made me happier inside and I would always have her songs playing.
Avril's music has saved me, her music transformed me and made me realize that life isn't about what other people think, its about what matters to you, its about whats inside. Its about the music.
