But in the bridge part of the lyrics she wrote, "Even though we didn't make it through, I am still here for you", so didn't make it through what? I mean Evan and Avril are still good friends. Maybe she's talking about the divorce with Deryck there...

@Prads I'm not talking about the song being about them dating. Goodbye Lullaby is a very special, personal record to Avril. Why would she have a personal song on TBDT which is mainly a fun, party, power guitar pop record? Personally I never thought they did. You can 'love' your best friend, not obviously in the way Avril and Deryck did. But Evan and Avril have been through so much since she first started her career, for example touring all the time, Evan practically being at her side the whole time etc. Its probably about the good times they shared, what they've been through etc. Nothing about them dating.

I believe all of them are about her ex-husband Deryck Whibley but the single Smile, which obviously refers to her current boyfriend Brody Jenner.

I think I Love You is about Deryck. I mean if it was about Evan, then the song should have been in the 3rd album right after Evan left the band, not in her 4th album after she got divorce with her ex husband. lol

To be honest I wouldn't say I Love You was about Deryck. In my opinion, it could be about Evan. But thats just my opinion.

I think they are more about Brody Jenner, but all the sad songs (Not Enough, Remember When, Goodbye etc) are about Deryck Whibley.
